A man was arrested and booked for the murder of two after it was revealed that the two were found dead in an Inland Empire home.
According to a press release issued by the Indio Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 45,000 block of Green Hills Court in Indio and conducted welfare checks on older couples.
Initially, the officers were unaware of the apparent foul play at the couple’s residence, but were unable to contact anyone at the residence.
“Through the investigation lead, officers go to the second address in the 78,000 block of Blooming Court at Palm Desert and find a couple,” reads an Indio Police Station press release. “The officer spoke to an adult man, and contact with the individual escalated to a standoff after the man refused to reside.”
“Based on the questionable circumstances of the couple’s whereabouts, officers conducted an internal safety sweep of the residence that first went to Green Hills Court,” the press release continued. “There was a forced entry and upon entry, officers discovered that the couple they were searching had died.”
