A 20-year-old man is behind bars after using social media apps to target and rob victims at gunpoint, Riverside County authorities announced this month.
Authorities said in a news release that on Jan. 12 at approximately 5 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 1200 block of Mount Shasta Street in Perris.
The suspect, later identified as Adrian Henning, 20, of Moreno Valley, fled the scene before police arrived, and the victim agreed to meet investigators on a popular social media sales app. He reportedly stated that he did so.
“When Henning and the victim agreed to meet to exchange property, Henning took the property without paying and brandished a firearm,” the release details.

While investigating the case, detectives learned that the 20-year-old boy reportedly used the same technique during another robbery earlier in the day in an unincorporated area of Mead Valley. I learned.

“When the victim and Henning met, Henning attempted to take the victim’s property by force and attempted to flee the area,” authorities said in a statement.
RCSD’s Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and were able to locate the 20-year-old boy in Moreno Valley, where he was taken into custody and booked into the Coybird Detention Center on charges of robbery, assault with a firearm, and assault with a semi-automatic weapon. And while on bail, he committed a felony.
