The Southern California man was arrested in connection with the ruthless murder of two brothers that occurred 19 years ago.
Richard Ferris, 50, of Moreno Valley, was taken into custody on August 1 by Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies.
He is accused of murdering 24-year-old Louie Granado and 34-year-old Glenn Granado on January 29, 2006.
Lawmakers responded to reports of the shooting near Peppercourt and John F. Kennedy Drive in Moreno Valley before 2am.
There were no gunmen. A few years after the investigation, the murder detective identified Ferris as a suspect, but at the time there was not enough evidence to accuse him, causing the case to cool down.
In April 2025, investigators resumed the case after identifying additional information. A few months later, sufficient evidence was gathered and lawmakers arrested Ferris in Boyle Heights.

He was booked at Robert Presley Detention Center. No further details were released including motives or how the suspect and victim were known to each other.
