A Southern California man who just completed a massive repair on a well-used truck has won $1 million to play the California lottery scradder, officials announced Wednesday.
Justin Beatty was testing more than 300,000 miles of Toyota after replacing the head gasket on a big year day when he decided to win cash on the set of scrackers that won the $3 win at Smoke Depot at Desert Hot Springs.
Beatty added another $10 to the prize, bought a $10 triple red 777 scratcher and rode the truck and played it. After scratching the path to the final line, he got the feeling of playing a game he lost when he matched No. 11.
“We only reveal the awards if we’re playing games,” Beatty explained to the California lottery.
He couldn’t believe his eyes when he returned to the store and confirmed that the cashier matched his victory number with a $1 million prize.
Meanwhile, the lottery recently announced that three more Southern California residents have become billionaires.
D. Labownty discovered that his wife asked him to pick up some scrackers and won a $1 million prize in Palmdale’s B-1 liquor B-1, $100 million mega cash game Scratcher.
“The universe is always finding a way for us,” Laboni said, speaking of victory.
Nicholas Amor Leon also discovered a million-dollar victory playing Triple Red 777, picked up from Von on Murray Boulevard Lake in Lamesa.
“Last time, but at least far from here, Jose Lopez won the top prize of $2 million after dropping into Frankie’s market at 4818 East Olympics Blvd. in Los Angeles, playing the aptly named billionaire maker Scratcher,” the official said.
