The popular motorsport park where a nine-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a “freak accident” in June is now permanently closed amid a lawsuit over her death.
Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park announced the closure in a social media post Saturday evening, saying it had decided to close permanently after the property owners were involved in a lawsuit.
The post read in part: “We have canceled our contract as the property owner is being brought forward as well due to a lawsuit stemming from a tragic accident in June.” “It would be in their best interest to close the park.”

The post went on to say that the landowner and the City of Lake Elsinore have “responsive very well” over the life of the park.
Park officials said, “Although there have been many challenges along the way, we have thoroughly enjoyed operating the track.” “We are very fortunate to have such a great group of customers and great people working at the circuit.”
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office filed the lawsuit following the death of Brooke Carlton at the same park on the morning of June 2nd. She was killed in a collision with another child riding an electric motorcycle on the railroad tracks.
Carlton, from Vista, San Diego County, was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the accident. The child involved in the collision was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
On a GoFundMe set up to help pay for funeral costs, she was described as a “completely driven person who knew what she wanted.”
