Southern California pizza chain Fresh Brothers will expand its footprint beyond the Golden State after being acquired by a Chicago-based company this week.
Fresh Brothers was acquired by Craveworthy Brands, which operates 15 restaurant brands with 225 stores nationwide.
This popular pizza chain opened its first location in California in 2008. Since then, the company has opened stores in various cities including Brentwood, Burbank, El Segundo, Hollywood, and Manhattan Beach.

New Fresh Brothers stores will open across the country through a franchise model, according to a news release.
Craveworthy Brands CEO Gregg Majewski told the LA Times that Fresh Brothers will open in the Chicago area and begin franchising in other states by March.
There are also plans to open more Fresh Brothers stores in California.
