A San Bernardino County School Resources Officer was arrested for allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with two middle school students.
Matthew Solano has been assigned to School Resource Officer for the Chino Valley Unified School District.
On January 6, Chino Police began an investigation into Solano after receiving reports of an incident involving two students from Magnolia Middle School.
During the investigation, Solano was placed on administrative leave and access to all school campuses was revoked.

Chino Police contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an independent investigation, with results confirmed last week.
On July 10th, Solano was taken into custody in connection with a crime. The District Attorney’s Office has filed charges of child, sle and lecherous behavior in relation to the annoyance of the first victim and child in relation to the second victim.
After Solano’s arrest, his administrative leave was changed to unpaid. Solano was hired by Chino Police Station in December 2020 and became the school’s resource officer/dare to be an officer in July 2023.
Chino Police Station Chief Kevin Mensen has issued a statement.
“We hold our officers to the highest standards and condemn these alleged actions on the strongest possible terms. The safety of our community, especially the youth, is our number one priority. This is what we understand deep concerns in our community. We have integrity and professionalism.
No further details have been made public as the case is under investigation.
