The start of the cool, wet week in Southern California is ongoing Monday morning.
KTLA’s Kirk Hawkins said the overnight shower was smoothed for Southland commuters, who had been expected to “rain in light until the afternoon.”
The rain total is expected to be relatively light as Monday’s shower will bring about about a quarter inch or less to most parts of Los Angeles County.
The National Weather Service (NWS) expects “there is no threat of massive flooding or debris flow.”

Wind recommendations have been in place from Monday morning to early Wednesday morning for parts of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
“Most of the affected areas are a little more inland,” Kirk said. Winds between 25-35 mph with gusts of 60 mph are predicted for mountainous regions of the Inland Empire.
Temperatures around the region are expected to remain on average within a week, along with forecasters seeking more chances of rain on Thursday.
“There is a slight chance of light rain on Thursday afternoons and evenings, followed by dry weather from the weekend and the trend of warming,” the NWS said.
