The sky was once again greeted by stripes of light when SpaceX fired a Falcon 9 rocket across the Southern California coast on Monday, just 30 minutes after the sunset.
With a lift-off time of 8:36pm, SpaceX launched a Starlink mission carrying 24 satellites from the Vandenberg Space Force Base.
“Residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura County may hear one or more sonic booms during launches, but residents’ experience depends on the weather and other conditions,” SpaceX said on its website.
This was the third flight of the first phase booster on this mission, SpaceX added. After stage separation, the first stage is of course love your droneship in the Pacific Ocean.
Starlink, according to its website, is “the world’s first largest satellite constellation that offers broadband internet that can use its low Earth orbit to support streaming, online gaming, video calls and more.”
Additionally, satellites provide “fast, low-latency internet” to users around the world.
