Returning to Earth with four astronauts, the SpaceX spacecraft can arrive overnight in the Sonic Boom.
The Dragon Capsule is scheduled to splash into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California early Tuesday morning. Spacecraft can create a sonic boom when most of Southern California sleeps.
In May, SpaceX Dragon Capsule reentered the Earth’s atmosphere, causing a sound boom. The boom rattled through a wide range of Southern California at the time before dawn.
Earlier on Monday, the crew of the Axiom Mission 4 left the International Space Station, which was mounted on a dragon capsule. The craft was not closed at about 4:15am until we returned home to California, an estimated 22.5 hours.
The dragon slowly travels into orbital trucks that bring crews back to Earth with over 580 pounds of cargo, including data from dozens of experiments. According to Axiom Space, Splashdown was expected at around 2:31am California time.
Depending on the cloud cover, the return of the spacecraft may be visible to the naked eye in parts of Southern California.

Four astronauts, Commander Peggy Whitson and Pilot Shuvansch Shukla, mission specialists Swavos Uznaski Winni Niewski and Tibor Kap created approximately 288 orbits around the Earth in about 18 days on the ISS. The mission marks the third for the first time in more than 40 years since India, Poland and Hungary launched national astronauts into space.
