California Highway Patrol Officer Dashcam was lying around as Alfa Romeo Giulia, and the Chrysler 300 passed the revised cruiser on the Chinio 60 Expressway earlier this week.
Video of a specially marked Patrol Vehicle (SMPV) shows officers speeding up quickly to speed up the two vehicles as they pass at high speed just before noon on Monday.
The 21-year-old Chrysler driver from Moreno Valley was arrested Thursday after being drawn to suspicions of a reckless driving and speed contest posted on Instagram on CHP_Ranchocucomonga.
“His car was towed and he is now facing criminal charges. Alfa Romero Giulia’s driver will be arrested later,” the post reads.
The man suspected of racing on the 60 highway in Chino will be taken into custody on July 7, 2025.
The SMPV cruiser is painted in alternative colors, making it difficult to identify by the driver, allowing officers to catch reckless drivers looking for traditional units.
CHP reminded drivers that they have been committed to stopping street racing and keeping the highway safe. “If you choose to race, you could go to prison, lose your car, or even worse, cause a fatal tragedy,” CHP said.
