As long as Chateau Marmont is active, the Sunset Strip will still be one of the coolest streets in the country. But for a day in August, Los Angeles’ iconic stretches return to the glory era that was the epicenter of rock and roll.
Part of Summer, Spinning Sunset: Vinyl Wax Fair will take over a pink dot parking lot on Saturday, August 16th from 1pm to 7pm. So music fans, vinyl heads and bargain hunters mix and mix booths from local record stores and vintage vendors, digging grooves into all vinyl DJ sets.

But that’s just part of the all-day festival. Certainly, jaming with fellow music lovers on the Sunset Strip is a great way to spend a Saturday, but this is something we can’t always party.
Stores and hotels along the strip also take part in action, including all-day themed Seoul Cycle classes. Also featured are Andaz West Hollywood, where Riot House Restaurant hosts the event’s official happy hour with special cocktails and food and drink discounts, and Hotel Ziggy, which hosts an official party from 6pm to 9pm.
Meanwhile, Sunset House La will host its one-day gallery pop-up, the Rebel Lens Gallery + Vinyl Spinning. This combines some of the most iconic photos in music history with a set of DJs to try and regain the strip’s highly iconic magic. A popular restaurant, Katana offers thirsty patrons the speciality of the day’s drinks, while Sunset Marquis’ Cabatina features food and drinks named after the artist and album, as well as a $35 “Heaven Door Whiskey Flight.” Also at Marx, the DJ spins by the poolside all day, then moves to Bar 1200 for the night.

Spinning Sunset is a summer hot summer event and is dedicated to reminding people how cool and cultural its little stretches are. After all, can you enjoy happy hour with both a $9 glass of wine and a stunning view of the Los Angeles skyline than Mondrian’s iconic skybar?
