Last week, officials responded to Murieta’s Target Store in order to catch a pair of shoplifters, including someone wearing a “can’t stop the scammer” t-shirt.
Police responded after the suspect sneaked out with unpaid goods after being found on surveillance video, Murieta Police Station found it on Facebook on Monday morning.
The officers arrived and found the first suspect as he left the store. “During a very enlightening chat, he proudly declared him as a career shoplifter “who came out of retirement,” police said.
The second suspect was taken into custody after it was found out he was “still wandering the aisle” inside the store.
The shoplifter suspect can be seen in images taken from a video provided by Murieta Police Station.
“Additionally, one of them was wearing a shirt that read, “We can’t stop a scammer.” #spoileralert: Yes, I can,” police said in the post.
Both unidentified suspects were arrested and booked on multiple charges, including a conspiracy to commit shoplifting.
“If you’re planning a robbery, you might want to skip Murrieta. No more… don’t plan that,” police said.
