Every year, Spotify users wait for the day when the streaming service will tell them what they already know: who they want to listen to.

On Wednesday, Spotify removed 2024 Wrapped. It provides a detailed breakdown of the artists, songs, and podcasts each user plays most often, and how their listening habits stack up with other users.

In the hours that followed, social media feeds filled up with screenshots from friends, family, and acquaintances with conclusive evidence that they did, in fact, like Taylor Swift.

Mark Hazan, an executive at Spotify, said the 10th anniversary of the streaming company’s popular campaign is a “thank you to our fans around the world.”

While each person’s Spotify Wrapped is created based on their specific listening experiences over the past 12 months, Spotify says their streaming habits are “primarily shaped by the people and places around us.” .

Spotify Rap Map 2024

Along with this, Spotify also released the 2024 Wrapped Map, which shows the top songs streamed throughout the year in some of the world’s most populous cities, including its hometown of Southern California.

Here are the most streamed songs in Los Angeles in 2024:

“Like Crazy” – Jimin “Not Like Us” – Kendrick Lamar “Espresso” – Sabrina Carpenter “Birds of a Feather” – Billie Eilish “Good Luck, Babe!” – Chappell loan

Compton native Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss has become the unofficial song of the summer, with Kendrick Lamar near the top of the Los Angeles streaming charts as the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series. It’s not surprising that there are.

Another Angeleno, Eilish, has been singing the song “Birds of a Feather”, as it has proven to be one of the most successful and acclaimed songs in her short but famous catalog. It is expected to rank in the top five. Perhaps it helped that she performed live in front of the world as part of the LA28 Olympic handover.

Los Angeles happily played a role in the breakout years of Sabrina Carpenter and Chapel Lawn, propelling them to superstar status.

However, Jimin’s “Like Crazy”, which took the top spot this year, may come as a surprise to casual observers. The South Korean singer-songwriter is one of the frontmen of Kpop supergroup BTS.

“Like Crazy” peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. and world charts, was certified platinum, and was his biggest song to date as a solo artist. Jimin’s other megahit single, “Who,” also became the No. 1 streaming song in Atlanta.

Elsewhere in California, “Espresso” was the top song in both San Francisco and San Diego, followed by “Birds of a Feather.” Both Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” and K-Dot’s “Not Like Us” also cracked the top five in those cities.

In San Francisco, Jimin’s “Who” was in the top five, but in San Diego, the fourth most streamed song was, no joke, Baby Sleeps, Background White Noise, and Dream Supplier’s “Clean Baby Sleep White Noise ( Loopable).

We suspect that much of the heavy lifting for this song was done by a few San Diego families with fussy babies. According to Spotify, this 2-minute, 22-second track of quiet ambient noise has been played more than 1.4 billion times worldwide.
