In a post on X on Friday, the Rams confirmed that Stafford, 37, will remain on the team, pairing it with the caption, “enable to reintroduce himself.”
The terms of Stafford’s new contract have not yet been announced, but his base salary is $23 million, which is quite low compared to his peers given his performance on the field. Stafford remained two years behind the four-year, $160 million contract extension he signed in 2022.
Stafford entertained conversations with both the Giants and Raiders Friday morning before agreeing to work with the Rams.
Throughout his tenure with the Rams, Stafford has become a 34-23 and 5-2 playoff record. He won the team in his first Super Bowl during his inauguration campaign since 2000 in 2021, winning the second title in franchise history.
Over 16 seasons in the NFL, Stafford was two-time Pro Bowler (2014, 2023), the 2011 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and was named a member of the Detroit Lions’ history team.
