Exclusive: All 15 Arizona Counties have begun a process of verifying and removing non-citizens from voter roles, including around 50,000 subscribers who have not provided evidence of U.S. citizenship.
“This settlement is a huge outcome for all Arizonans,” James Rogers, senior American First Legal (AFL) lawyer, told Fox News Digital after his organization’s successful lawsuit led the process in Arizona.
The AFL filed a lawsuit against 15 Arizona counties last year on behalf of Ezaz.org and registered voter and naturalized citizen Yvonne Cahill, claiming that the county votes in local and state elections and does not follow state laws requiring evidence of citizenship to do monthly checks.

As a result of the lawsuit, 15 counties are now beginning to work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to examine the citizenship status of all registered voters in the state that have failed to provide evidence of citizenship.
The 2013 Supreme Court ruling prohibits the state from impose voter registration requirements beyond the federal requirement that registrants must check boxes that support U.S. citizenship, but Arizona residents must provide proof of citizenship to vote in state and local elections.
Arizona law requires county recorders to perform monthly list maintenance and verify the U.S. citizenship of so-called “federal-only voters.”

Trump administrators will announce plans to immigrants pose large fines daily.
Subscribing subscribers who are subsequently confirmed to be citizens will be moved to their regular list, but those who are found to be non-citizens will have to cancel their subscribers.
However, the AFL in the lawsuit alleged that the county recorders were not using the resources available to confirm the citizenship status that Arizona law requires them. As a result, all 15 counties have submitted requests to DHS to help them with their efforts to clear the role of non-citizen voters.

“This will help county recorders find and remove aliens in voter roles,” Rogers said. “It could also control federal voters with confirmed citizenship, allowing them to vote in state and local elections. The AFL congratulates each of Arizona’s 15 county recorders for taking this bold and important step for the integrity of the state’s election.”
