Travis Scott’s return to Coachella has been around for a long time. The rapper with Autotune was supposed to top the 2020s cancel edition, so he was sure to play the 2022 return of the music festival, but he didn’t actually finish with that year’s lineup (it was only announced a few months after the fatal crowd was crushed at Houston rapper Astrol’s Festival).
But now he’s heading to Indio with the “Design the Desert” credits of his name on the Fest lineup poster. Everything we know about Scott’s Headlining Coachella performance.

Hopefully, please stay up late. Travis Scott is scheduled to appear on stage at 11:40pm. Green Day, who performs on Coachella/Main Stage before Scott, is technically a Saturday night headliner, according to the lineup poster, but Scott will really be performing on that stage at the end (he essentially equals the “and…” credits of films and TV shows).
Has Travis Scott played Coachella before?
Yes, in 2017 he performed outdoor plays. There, we arrived behind a giant bird doll. In addition to that extremely crowded, high energy set, he appeared as a guest during the Kendrick Lamar headline slot in the same year.

Of course, we don’t know all of the things he plays in advance, but looking at his first weekend set list can help you ask for some pretty good ideas about what to expect. About a third of the set list of about 30 songs (including “Fe!n”) was drawn from Utopia. This has been touring by Scott since 2023. Astrould (“Butterfly Effect”, “bystander”, “shikko mode”) was also well represented.
Jack Boys 2 is scheduled to be released this year. This is the sophomore effort of Scott’s hip-hop group, including Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Sofaigo, Scott’s DJ and Chase B, but the lead single “4×4” appears briefly in the intro of the show’s marching band. Scott also performed two unreleased songs, tentatively named “Oh Jacques” and “She Going Dumb.”
What special guests might appear?
We were sure that Scott’s special guest might perform ahead of one of the weekends. In an interview with Complex, Scott said he views his set as “social” who is working as a curator. It would certainly have been tracked by the “Desert Design” credits he has on his lineup poster. But in reality, “Desert Design” refers to the acrobatic, over-the-top production of his live shows, but it’s a kind of sculpture park-like village on every festival ground, mainly from tattoo stations to arena football to state farm Jake. And who are your special guests? Well, despite Scott’s collaboration with almost every major name in hip hop, there was nothing. He wasn’t alone in that regard. Most of the headliners this year have chosen to focus on themselves (please tune them to the Charli XCX, La Phil, Yo Gabba Gabba! set if you’re chasing special guests).
