President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would nominate U.S. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce to become the next representative of the United Nations.
“I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Tammy Bruce, the great patriot, television personality and bestseller author, in the rank of ambassador as the next vice president of the United Nations,” the president wrote on social media.
“Since the beginning of my second term, Tammy has been a prominently serving as a spokesman for the State Department. She has done a great job. Tammy Bruce is a brilliant representative of our country at the United Nations. Congratulations Tammy!”
Bruce defends the Trump administration’s position on immigration policies and war in Ukraine and Gaza.

Last week, she warned Russia on Fox News that she needed to “seriously” take Trump to the ceasefire deadline.
Bruce has been in power since Trump took office.

Before Trump tapped her as a State Department spokesman, she was a longtime conservative commentator and a Fox News contributor.
When Trump chose her for the State Department, he described her as “a highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of “Maga” early on.”

Dorothy Shea, who served as vice ambassador last year, is the current acting ambassador.
Trump candidate Mike Waltz, the UN ambassador, is still waiting for confirmation.
