“Commie Mamdani Holding [Gov. Kathy Hochul] I will be heading for reelection in 2026,” Stefanik said in X.
Fox News Digital has contacted the Hochul and Mamdani offices for comment.
Stefanik has so far flirted with a bid for the New York Governor’s mansion, but has yet to put her name in the race.
She was previously the third-ranked Republican in House GOP leadership until she was tapped to become President Donald Trump’s U.S. ambassador. However, Trump pulled his nomination and Stefanik returned home, where she again won a spot in leadership.

Rep. Mike Lawler (RN.Y.) is also pondering his bid for Hochul and has yet to announce his intentions, like Stefanik. Roller has won the typical Democratic district twice, but Stefanik holds his seat in the deep red section of upstate New York.
