Exclusive: The California Governor Race in 2026 went wild when Republican Steve Hilton entered the race to succeed government Gavin Newsom.
The former Fox News contributor and author of California said he hopes to “golden California again” for the state’s “workers.”
“A big decision I can share with you right now, I’m actually going to run for California governor in 2026. I love this state. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best place in the world.”
This is a way to know what the California government has to say. Gavin Newsom’s epiphany on “liberal governance” is authentic
“But after 15 years of one-party rule, this state is barely recognised, because the 2026 election in California will continue with this one-party rule by Democrats, things start to get worse very quickly,” he added.

The media character was quickly approved by former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, the current Ohio governor candidate.
“Steve Hilton represents America’s excellence. He is a great entrepreneur and communicator and will become the dominant governor of California,” Lamaswamy posted on X on Monday afternoon. “I’ve known him for years and welcomed him to Ohio for our launch in February. He has full support for me.”
Hilton was born in the UK and graduated from New College in Oxford. He served as senior adviser to former British Prime Minister David Cameron, who was the leader of the Conservative Party.
“[California] It really reminds me of the 1970s England. The UK was called the “European Sick,” Hilton explained in a video of the campaign’s announcement obtained by Fox News Digital. “Today, there’s no other way to see California than “American sick people.” ”
After moving to California in 2012, Hilton embraced American entrepreneurial spirit and co-founded Crowdpac.com, a Silicon Valley tech startup.
Throughout his time in the US, Hilton’s contributions to the conservative media of various outlets landed his own show, “The Next Revolution” on the Fox News channel. The Sunday Night Program aired weekly from 2017 to 2023.
Newsom has been put out and the candidates line up for a shot of his spot in Sacramento. On the democratic side, former health and personnel director Xavier Beterra, former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigoza and former councillor Katie Porter are one of the long list of names seeking work. On the Republican side, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is on the trajectory of his job campaign.

Democrats have a huge majority in Congress, but a recent poll of California voters showed that 48% would consider supporting Republicans for the governor, according to Sacramento Bees.
“We have the combination of idiots and ideologues that have driven this to the ground, ruining what I think is the biggest and biggest country on the planet, and that’s a time for change,” Hilton said.
For Kamala Harris, the possibility of a political comeback may be bleak
Most notably, former Vice President Kamala Harris is weighing the run following the 2024 presidential defeat. If she decides to join, Harris will soon be considered a democratic top runner.
Golden State is facing serious questions about the future as it navigates issues such as crime, homelessness, and financial management of programs such as Medi-Cal. Hundreds of thousands of Californians travel from the state each year at a rate accelerated after the pandemic, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Many Californians have higher costs of living than in other countries when it comes to taxation and gas prices.

“We have the highest taxes in the country, but the highest poverty rate. You have a third of Californians who can’t meet their basic needs. We have the highest housing costs. That’s the number one reason people are leaving the nation,” Hilton said.

Republicans said Golden State was once known for being “upward mobility” and a place of opportunity, but it has become much more difficult to survive.
“California represented America’s best. For many people, when they came up with their dreams for America, I think they came up with California and California dreams,” he added.
