Media reports revealed that two storeways were killed earlier this year in the JetBlue plane’s landing gear compartment.
The teenager was found on January 6th during a regular post-flight maintenance inspection after a 1801 flight at 7:49pm, when he departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and landed at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport just after 11pm.
According to a report by NBC News, the aircraft stopped in Puerto Plata, the Dominican Republic on January 5th.
Victims from the Dominican Republic, Jake Anilus Luci and 18-year-old Elvis Volquez Castillo, 16, were identified after Broward County Sheriff’s officials said they had “extensive DNA tests.”

So far, there is no indication that the pair has been able to enter the plane’s landing gear in violation of security. Aviation expert John Gagliano said CBS News is one of the most deadly spots on aircraft for anyone looking to sailors.

“It’s very loud. It’s very cold and there’s no air to breathe,” he explained. “That’s why pulling is a very dangerous stunt.”
JetBlue characterized the security breaches as “a heartbreaking situation,” and said in a statement it is committed to working with investigators “to understand how this happened.”
The discovery of the two teens comes just a week after the bodies were found in the well of a United Airlines flight traveling from Chicago to Maui.
In an airline statement, officials said the location of the body where it was found is only accessible from the outside of the aircraft, and it is unclear how the deceased got there.
