Suge Knights Blasts Snoog dog in Jailhouse Interview

A war of words is being brewed between two men connected to the history of hip-hop on the West Coast.

In an interview behind Bars with “The Art of Dialogue,” Suge Knight claims that Snoop Dogg is destroying rap music and Deathrow legacy.

This responded to claims that Snoop said he was angry that Knight had bought the label.

Knight said that Snoop, who served as an executive creative and strategic consultant at Def Jam Recordings in 2021, has done nothing for its label and is doing the same for the company he co-founded more than 30 years ago.

Tupac Shakur’s unreleased recording and sale lyrics

“You’re trying to create something that Suj Knight created, but instead of making something, you’ve disappointed the world by floping everything,” he cried. “When you put out Dogg Pound, they sold the records. You put out Dog Pound, they sold nothing – it flops.”

Knight went a step further to claim that Snoop is ruining the next generation of genres.

“You have to talk tough. We have to talk about each other. [us] Nowhere. One or three or four people are not bigger than hip hop. You should be trying to find a way to make hip hop better. Everyone is destroying hip hop – you guys are making it worse. If you have a death row, you destroyed it. You ruined your name. ”

Compton natives even questioned whether “Dogfather” really was the label’s owner.

“Snoop, you said I was mad because you bought the death line,” Knight said. “What do you buy? Shut up me. Show me where y’all paid to buy it. Show me the papers – show me what you own.”

The Compton native co-founded Docter in 1991 with Dr. Doc and Dick Griffey. A few years later, by signing Snoop and Tupac Shakur, it became an fixture within the West Coast music scene.

They began to break up for a variety of reasons, including ongoing legal issues with Knight, the death of Shakur in 1996, and when Dre and Snoop left the label. Deathrow filed for bankruptcy in 2006 and was auctioned three years later, after passing through various owners.

Snoop Dogg supported the Death Row Records brand Revive in 2022 after getting it at a private price from the MNRK Music Group, previously known as Eone Music. Some sources estimate that the transaction is worth around $50 million.

In the meantime, Knight has sentenced him to 28 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter. He is tied up to Terry Carter’s death and is eligible for parole in 2034.
