The exchange between Gorsuch and Blatt came after she accused her of lying about her public school attitude.
The lawyer “should be more careful about what they say,” Gorsuch told Bratt in warning.
“Now, they need to be more careful with all respect when misinterpreting the positions of the best courts’ experienced advocates,” replied Bratt.

He then re-referenced the accusation of lying. “Mr. Brat,” Gorsuch told her, “I confess that I am still troubled by your suggestion that your friend on the other side had lied.”
“Okay,” she fought back. “Let’s lift that up. In a verbal discussion…”
Gorsuch cuts and says, “I think we have to do it here, and ask you to reconsider that phrase.”
“You can accuse people of being wrong but lying –,” Gorsuch said before Bratt tried to insert it.
“Master Bratt, if I might end up,” Gorsuch said before continuing: “But lies are another matter.”

He then began to read a page of their briefs before breaking again.
“I’m not finished,” Grousi told her, yelling him out.
“Retract your accusation, Mr. Bratt,” he told her he was lying.
“Great, I’m going to retreat,” she shot.

In his counterargument, the plaintiff said it would be unpopular to call a name.
The exchange sparked several topics online, including from experienced Court of Appeals Rafi Melconian, who focused on the exchange on social media.
