The suspect was arrested after a man was shot and killed in downtown Riverside.
The suspect was identified as Hector Alfonso Sanchez Torres, 26, according to the Riverside Police Department.
On March 30th, Torres and the victim were identified only as adult males and were involved in some sort of altercation.
Torres is said to have run along a busy area near University Avenue, near Main Street. He then fired at the victim before fleeing the scene.
Officials found the victim with a gunshot wound in his leg. The man was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives from the Gang Intelligence Unit, Drugs and Metro Team investigated the shooting and later identified Torres as a suspicious gunman.

Torres was in the unincorporated Riverside County Home Gardens community where he was detained. He was arrested for attempted murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
“The shooting occurs in busy areas and there may be witnesses who have not yet made progress,” the official said.
