A man allegedly smashed a tire across West Covina has been arrested.
The suspect was identified as 32-year-old William Bernie, according to the West Covina Police Department.
On July 28, police responded to 16 separate reports of vandalism in the 1800 block of W. Yarnell Street and nearby apartments.
Officers arrived at the scene and began investigating. Surveillance footage collected from several locations showed suspects sneaking into driveways and parking lots at night, slashing the tires of parked vehicles.

Through evidence collected and hints from witnesses, investigators identified Bernie as the main suspect.
On August 1, the victim called police after he spotted Berni walking around his home. Officers arrived shortly and arrested the man for felony vandalism.
The motivation behind the incident remains unknown.
