Authorities arrested a man suspected of murdering an art student who was found dead in a condo in the Newhall community in Santa Clarita last month, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told NBC Los Angeles on Thursday.
The man, identified as 22-year-old Jack Ming Terry, was arrested on Sunday, February 16th near his residence in the Garden Groves in connection with Mengan Tsang’s death.
Terry was appointed someone of interest last month when authorities made his photo public.
Investigators also said there was security video footage from a second-floor window showing Terry leaving Zhuang’s condo in Nandi Narrene before her body was discovered.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Jack Min Terry, previously identified as someone of interest in connection with the murder of Mengan’s “Emily King” Zuan, has been arrested.
Zhuang, who also passed through her favorite name, Emily King, suffered several injuries to her upper body, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The victim was originally a senior student at the California Institute of Arts (Calato), originally from China. She was in the country on a student visa.
In a statement, Calarts said that Zhuang was remembered as a talented artist and beloved classmate.
“Our sincere deity is to go out to her family, friends, classmates and teachers,” the school said.
