Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars worth of tools from an Orange County hardware store.
Irvine police said the suspects were identified as Karen Juliana Hurtado Lopez, 23, and Cristian David Moreno, 22, both of Los Angeles.
On January 22nd, police spotted the suspects’ car without a license plate and stopped the suspects.
As officers approached, they noticed a large amount of tools and merchandise in the back seat. During the investigation, police believed the duo stole more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from a Home Depot store in a nearby city.

Officers discovered Moreno was wanted on a $25,000 warrant for organized theft. He was arrested on charges of conspiracy and possession of stolen property.
Lopez was charged with fraudulent possession of identification, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy.
Both suspects were booked into the Orange County Jail. No further details have been released as the incident is still under investigation.
