The Sylmer man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Tuesday for distributing sexually explicit images of high school students without permission and threatening those who opposed them.
The man identified as 23-year-old Alejandro Garcia Aranda had to pay $45,000 in compensation to the 15 victims, according to the Justice Department.
In Aranda’s ruling, the DOJ said the judge emphasized the “cruel”, “ruthless” and “monster” nature of the crime.
According to the DOJ, Aranda used the social media site Instagram to promote and distribute links to Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
“In April and May 2020, Aranda used her Instagram handle “Valleyhoezzz818″ with a self-proclaimed goal.[e]We are Xposing all valley ho at @’S’ to target local girls who attended schools in San Fernando Valley,” the DOJ said in a statement.
Customers pay Aranda through Cash App, PayPal, Venmo and Zelle in exchange for CSAM advertised on Instagram.
After receiving the payment, DOJ said that Aranda will send a message directly to customers with a link to a ZIP file containing the material.
The victims eventually discovered that their unconsensual photos were promoted and spread by Aranda.
When the victim asked Aranda to stop the photo and delete it, Doji said that Aranda “sought to extract more sexually explicit material, including threatening to post additional photos.” I stated.
Aranda eventually gained federal custody in July 2024.
Aranda admitted to knowingly distributing CSAMs in May 2020, containing three sexually explicit videos and one image involving a child.
Additionally, Aranda admitted to owning more than 600 images from CSAM.
