Russia and Ukrainian delegations began consultations in Istanbul, Turkey, within 24 hours after a massive Ukrainian drone attack hit Russian airfields.
The two delegations joined the Silagang Palace in Istanbul along with a group of Turkish officials. The second round of peace negotiations will be held in the three years since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Images from the event show many of the Ukrainian delegations wearing military uniforms, whereas Russian groups were exclusively wearing suits.
Details of the meeting are not expected to be made public until the conclusion has passed. However, Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not meet face to face.
