A Pasadena man who worked as a teacher and women’s soccer coach for 20 years was arrested after police searched his device and found images of child pornography.
Justin Yasutake, 39, was arrested by Arcadia Police Department officers at his home Wednesday afternoon.
Yasutake became the subject of an investigation last month after someone reported him to Arcadia police after receiving suspicious messages via social media.
“In these messages, the unknown subjects asked questions about the girls and sent videos of themselves masturbating to images of the girls,” the police department said in a news release. .
One of the people involved in the online conversation was later identified as Yasutake, investigators allege.
A search warrant was issued and executed for his electronic devices, which resulted in the discovery of “numerous” videos and images of underage girls engaging in sex acts.
An arrest warrant was then issued and he was taken into custody in front of his home.
This booking photo provided by the Arcadia Police Department on December 11, 2024 shows Justin Yatake, 39, of Pasadena.
Detectives then learned that the 39-year-old man served as both a teacher and a youth soccer coach, and may have “exploited underage girls during that time.”
Because the suspect was in contact with underage girls, investigators believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward or who have not reported inappropriate behavior.
Arcadia Police are asking anyone who had previous contact with Anbu and may have information related to the case to contact detectives at 626-574-5188. Anonymous tips can be provided online or by calling 800-222-8477.
Yasutake is currently being held at Arcadia Police Station and will be charged with possession of child sexual abuse material.
