A teenager riding an e-bike was hospitalized after a false crash in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday.
Rancho Cucamonga police responded to a crash at the intersection of Wardman Block Road and San Angelo Drive around 8:35am
The electric bike rider, identified only as a 16-year-old boy, was traveling on the other side of the road when the male driver of the van suddenly spotted a cyclist approaching.
The driver bent to avoid collision with the teen, but at the same time the teen bent in the same direction and struck the van, police said.
The 16-year-old was kicked out into the air and above the van before landing on the road.
The injured teen was taken to a local hospital where he remained stable.
The van driver was not injured. No further details were released, including the teenage identity. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
