The 15-year-old girl was arrested on Saturday night for assault and other charges after a group attack in In-N-Out’s burger parking lot in Gilbert, Arizona, officials said.
Gilbert police responded to reports of a fight involving multiple teenage girls around 11:30pm on IN-N-Out on Williamsfield Road and Market Street, authorities told the Republic of Arizona. Officers arrived, took a statement of witnesses and gathered evidence, including video.
Several videos of the brawl posted on social media show a confused scene in which one girl is pushed into the ground and three others punch her and pull her hair, the newspaper reported.
One video filmed the moment just before the attack, showing the victim smiling before the attacker blinded her.
The incident raised concerns as it is very similar to the tactics used by the “Gilbert Goons,” a teenage gang known for documenting and publishing their blitz-style attacks in parks and parking garages.
According to the Republic, IN-N-Out on Market Street is a frequent site of these attacks, with at least seven previous assaults documented through video and police records.
In a news release on Sunday, the Gilbert Police Department said violence would not be tolerated.
“To prevent youth violence requires shared responsibility and united efforts,” the statement read. “We ask all families to help us by encouraging more accountability in our homes and encouraging safe and respectful behavior among young people.”
