The fall 2025 semester begins on Wednesday in Anaheim.
Almost 14,000 students in the city have returned to classes, with some having a lot of fanfare.
For example, Edison Elementary School recruited Maria Chiband to welcome students and parents when they joined.
“It’s great to be part of this school,” said one parent who attended Edison over 25 years ago and took three children to the first day. “[It’s been] To see everything change over 25 years since I was here and over the years…it’s so great to be back in school. ”

Suzanne Nichols, principal at Edison Elementary School, was just as excited as some of her parents and students.
“This is the best community I’ve ever been to. These are my family… They deserve it so I want to roll out the red carpet for them,” Nichols told KTLA 5’s Omar Lewis. “We’re doing everything we can to make the 2025-26 grade successful.”
