Supporting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s major challenge for longtime Republican senators in 2026, Super PAC shows Senator John Cornyn the Magazine Firebrand’s efforts in the fight for the high stakes rezoning in Lone Star.
This is the latest example of how the Texas constituency showdown is shaping what is likely to be one of the most bruiseful and expensive Senate races in next year’s midterm elections.
The Lone Star Liberty PAC digital spot includes an edit of a cable news report, highlighting Paxton’s efforts to track Democrats Texas legislators who fled the state to prevent Republican-controlled Congress from voting for a new GOP-made Congress map in the five-right law Renning Congressional district.
This includes a clip from Paxton pushing conservative media figures praises the Attorney General’s move, “we’ll remove some of these lawmakers from their duties.” If it also includes a photo of Paxton standing next to President Donald Trump.

The Republican push in Texas coming to encourage Trump is part of the GOP’s broader efforts across the country to control the majority of razor-thin homes in the middle of 2026, with parties of power traditionally facing political headwinds and losing their seats.
Trump and his political team are aiming to prevent what happened in his first term at the White House when Democrats raided in the middle of 2018 to win a majority of the home.
Sen. Cornyn managed to urge the FBI to track down Texas Democrats fleeing
While district battles have spread across states across the country as the Democratic governors of the Blue State and GOP governors of the Red State travelled towards their own unusual medieval gerrymandering push, the Texas conflict has taken the central stage in the GOP Senate primary.

Texas-based Republican strategist Tyler Norris told Fox News Cornyn and Paxton “we are committed to using all the tools at our disposal to help the Trump administration win more seats in Congress in 2026.”
Cornyn spotlighted an emergency letter asking the FBI for help as he pursued a democratic state legislator who fled Texas. The Senator’s move led the FBI to approve his request to find an AWOL MP.
“I am proud to announce that Coach Kash Patel has approved my request to the FBI to help state and local law enforcement find a runaway Texas House Democrat,” Cornyn said in a statement. “We cannot allow these unfair legislators to avoid constitutional liability.”
However, it remains unclear whether the FBI will actually be able to bring lawmakers back to Texas.
Paxton is also considering whether two political action committees, coinciding with former Texas Democrat Rep. Beto O’Rourke, may have violated state law by supporting escaped state lawmakers.
“Any Democrat who breaks the law by taking Beto’s bribes will be accountable,” Paxton said at a press conference.
O’Rourke failed to make the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 after ousting Sen. Ted Cruz in the midterm of 2018. He was defeated by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in the state’s 2022 governor’s contest and is considering jumping into the 2026 Senate election in Texas.
He is attracted by his support for the Texas Democrats who are fleeing.

And O’Rourke was pushed back against Paxton.
“The man who was blasted for bribery is on the way after those trying to stop theft of five Capitols,” O’Rourke claimed in a social media post Wednesday. “Let’s stop these thugs before we steal our country.”
Texas Sen. James Tarico is heading towards entering the Senate race, but is one of the Democrats who fled to Illinois to prevent Congress from voting for district plans.
Since arriving in Illinois, Taralico has sat in dozens of interviews with media outlets around the country.

Former Colin Allred, the only major Democrat who has already announced his candidacy in Senate race, supports the fleeing lawmakers.
But Allred, who has made his second straight bid for the Texas Senate, has not been in the media spotlight to the extent of Taralico or O’Rourke.
