Texas Republicans say “the tip of the iceberg” and “deportation” are about to rise

(Hill) – Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-Texas), who represents the southern border district, praised President Donald Trump for his deployment of the National Guard and said he considers his work in Los Angeles “the tip of the iceberg.”

In an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” Gonzalez said, “Yes, I’m happy with that,” when asked about the deployment of the President’s National Guard.

“It’s tragic to see what’s going on in Los Angeles. I spent 20 years in the military. I fought in two wars. I fought to give people the freedom to protest whatever they wanted,” Gonzalez said in an interview.

“But it’s not the supporters we see in LA,” he continued. “We’re looking at anarchists, and the US president should absolutely place a mob as soon as possible. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Gonzalez said he believes protests against immigrant attacks will continue across the country as the Trump administration continues to do what it can to expel people quickly.

“I want to see safety. I want to see safety and security. I want to see safety and security. [in] Includes all locations, LA. But once again, this is the tip of the iceberg. We’re talking about 100,000 people. It’s being deported. The numbers are rising. ”

Gonzalez was asked if he saw the Trump administration targeting red cities or if he thought the administration was focusing on blue-tendable regions like LA.

“I think what they’re targeting is that they’re trying to expel people as quickly as possible. What happens is… it’s going to be the nation. And once again, this is the tip of the iceberg.”

Gonzalez said under the Biden administration, more than 400,000 asylum seekers closed the lawsuits without failing to file a lawsuit before a judge.

“So we can claim that these 400,000 people are in this country illegally and should be deported immediately. We can also argue that these 400,000 people are not appropriate.

“What I’m worried about is that this is escalating. It’s not just going to become LA, it’s going to be a city across the country as we continue to banish people,” he added.
