Drivers are warned to keep an eye on fraudulent tow truck drivers trying to take advantage of tortured drivers across Los Angeles.
“These ‘towing trucks’ monitor radio traffic, rush to the crash scene and pretend to be useful tow truck operators,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office posted Wednesday.
According to the post, when an operator tows your vehicle, they will refuse to return the vehicle until the inflated fee is paid, or will refuse to return the vehicle.
“This is fraud and illegal,” the DA’s office said.
