A 15-year-old boy was killed and five people were injured in a crash in a Campbell Hall parking lot Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
According to a department spokesperson, the Los Angeles Police Department received a call at 3:10pm regarding a vehicle crash at Studio City Private School.
The boy was struck by a green 2025 Libian SUV across the parking lot and pinned to a white SUV, the spokesman said. He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital for treatment, and was later declared dead.
Two minors and three adults were injured in a collision, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Aerial footage taken by a KTLA News helicopter showed stakes of three vehicles in the parking lot. Libian appears to have pushed the white SUV into the black SUV as parents lined up in the car to pick up students from school.
The cause of the collision is currently unknown and is similar to the driver’s identity.
“My heart is in the entire Campbell Hall community during this tragic time,” LA County Superintendent Lindsay Holvas said in an X’s statement.
According to the LAFD, the mayor’s crisis response team was sent to school after the incident.
Campbell Hall is a private Anglican K-12 school with renowned alumni, including actors Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen. Dakota and Elfanning. NBA players Jrue, Aaron and Justin Holiday.
School representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
