The 19-year-old man was arrested last week in connection with the fatal shooting of a man who he deemed unresponsive in his car, according to Anaheim police.
At about 6pm on February 27th, officers responded to Ball Road West on Sunkist Avenue after reports that the driver had died behind the wheel.
When officers arrived, they discovered the man had been shot dead, according to the Anaheim Police Department. Paramedics provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Anthony Ace Espino, a resident of Anaheim.
The murder detective, along with the department’s gang unit and the crime task force, began an investigation and arrested 19-year-old Lawrence Romero of Orange on Tuesday.
He was safely taken into custody and reserved for murder. The case will be filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, officials said.
