The 20-year-old was fatally shot and killed by police after police allegedly pulled a gun by police earlier this year, officials from the Pomona Police Station said.
The violent February 3 incident unfolded after a 911 operator with PPD was founded by a suspect, now identified as Isaac Cannon, who was chased after two Hispanic men and reported that he was armed with a gun.
Officers responded to the Stratus Drive and Martinson Avenue areas just after 10pm.
Video of a dash cam from one of the responding officer’s patrol vehicles captured the cannon, walking along the Stratus Drive towards Martinson, with both hands placed in the front pocket of a hooded sweatshirt.
According to the police, the officer left his car and created a distance between himself and the suspect.

In body-covered camera footage, officers can see the gun stretching out towards the 20-year-old walking behind the gun.
“f —– take your hand out of your pocket,” the officer hears, yelling, “Drop the gun!”

Video of the suspect appears to show him pulling out a handgun and lifting it up.
Officials on the scene tried life-saving measures until the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and declared Cannon dead at the scene.
It is unclear whether investigators spoke to two young men who the suspect reportedly chased. No further information has been provided, such as whether Canon is a Pomona resident or was provided by someone else.
Fatal force use is under investigation by the Pomona Police Department, the LA County District Attorney’s Office and the LA County Sheriff’s Office.
