The 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies at 7-Eleven stores across Los Angeles, and authorities believe he has other victims.

Between April 9 and May 7, Investigators at the Los Angeles Police Department say that Jesus Javier Contreras Reyes attacked multiple convenience stores and stolen them at gunpoint.

In each instance, the 28-year-old boy entered the store, selected items as if to buy them before approaching the counter. In one footage of the robbery, Reyes withdraws cash to pay for drinks while the cashier rings him and opens the register.

“He then produced a semi-automatic handgun from the waistband, loaded up slides and asked the cashier for money,” LAPD said in a news release. “After obtaining US currency from the register, the suspect escaped on foot before leaving the scene to the vehicle.”

In at least one hold-up, customers entered the store, as if Reyes had put the gun back into the waistband and pulled money while watching him walking behind him.

In partnership with South Gate Police Department, LAPD’s Robbery and Residential Department conducted a thorough investigation into the robbery, leading to the 28-year-old’s ID.

On May 7th, he stolen another 7-Eleven at Southgate while detectives searched for Reyes’ warrants and prepared to arrest him.

“He was arrested shortly after the incident,” police said. “During the arrest, officers retrieved firearms and other evidence items loaded from his car.”

The 28-year-old is being held at the LAPD Prison facility, booked for an armed robbery with expanded capabilities.

The detectives have released numerous photos of Reyes as well as video footage, as it is believed that there will be additional, unreported victims who may be able to identify him.

Anyone who is a victim or has information about the investigation is advised to contact LAPD Robbery Director det. Delph and Alas at 213-486-6840. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call La Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or leave tips online at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
