The man was dead, the other person was hospitalized in danger, and his family was arrested after a violent altercation in Orange County.
On Monday, officers were sent to a home in the 13100 block of Yorkie Street, with shootings and two victims reported.
Officers entered the country and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One was deemed dead, the other was removed by field officers and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening wounds.
Details about the moment leading up to the fatal shooting are sparse, but police arrested a third man for his allegations. Police said all three were family members.
A 32-year-old Omar Morina, a resident of the house, has been taken into custody, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
Molina is said to have been at home when two other men were involved in a violent altercation. Police say Molina heard gunshots from other rooms, armed with her own firearms and searched for the two’s family.
Investigators are still working to determine what happened, but Molina is believed to have shot and killed the man whose body was found by police. It is unclear whether the second victim, transported in danger, was also injured by Molina, or whether he was attacked by the now-deceased man.
Police say there is no threat to the public, and the crime appears to be an isolated incident among families.
“The exact nature of how things happened, the cause of the fatal altercation and the cause of the weapon used is still under investigation,” police said. “To protect the integrity of the investigation, no additional information will be made public at this time, and we ask for your patience when trying to determine the facts of the case. [and] Provide support to surviving families. ”
