At the milestone moment, Army Friday conducted live-action inspections of its precision strike missiles in Australia, the international western part of Australia.

The test, seen in footage obtained by Fox News Digital, shows significant advances in the region’s long-distance strike capabilities. Precision Strike Missiles (PRSMs) have an unclassified range of 300 miles and can hit targets moving on land or at sea.

The test launched a US-made PRSM, launched from a High Mobility Artillery System (HIMARS) vehicle owned by the Australian Defence Force.

It was a show of power between the US and Australia during a period of growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific.

Army Secretary Dandriskoll, who observed the tests in the Mount Bundy training area in Australia, said: “PRSM allows our forces to put our land and maritime areas at risk, pause the enemy and increase deterrence.”

PRSM is the latest addition from the US Army to its Long Range Precision Fire (LRPF) portfolio, a triad of advanced strike systems that includes HIMARS launch missiles, mid-range capabilities platforms and Dark Eagle Hypernic missiles.

Hima has already been proven in combat zones like Ukraine, but its ability to fire and avoid counterattacks quickly makes its strategic utility significantly by integrating PRSM into this platform.

Mobile launchers can be deployed from US Navy landers C-17 and C-130 aircraft, as well as from sea vessels, a capabilities tested in joint training with the Maritime and Marines.

Unlike the 90-mile Range-Expanded Range Guide Multi-Rocket Rocket System (ER GMLRS), which launches six missiles per HIMAR, the PRSM carries two missiles per launcher, allowing you to reach more than three times the distance.

Asked why missiles are an important part of preparing for a potential war in the Indo-Pacific, Drisco told reporters:

Himars’ fielding continues throughout the US Indo-Pacific Command, with Hawaii’s 25th Infantry Division recently receiving 16 launchers. This is the first launcher of a light infantry division tasked with war in the jungle and archipelago. Officials say they are considering increasing munitions production in key allies.

The Pentagon may sink Biden-era contract to sell Australian atomic submarines

The test defines how it can be useful in the event of a war breaking out through Taiwan’s Chinese invasion after it was revealed that the Pentagon was being personally pressed by Australia. Australia responded by emphasizing that it would not violate the military prior to the conflict.

Australia does not allow permanent foreign military bases, but the US is expanding its revolving presence on Australian sites. Australia and the US have recently led a major joint exercise in Sydney that involves 30,000 troops from 19 countries.

It also comes as Washington is reconsidering whether to sell nuclear Virginia-class submarines to Sydney through the Australia-UK-US (Occas) deal.

The three countries jointly designed a new class of submarines, and Australian production began in the 2040s.
