Three people, a woman and two men, were arrested in Panorama City on Tuesday night, suggesting preliminary and unconfirmed reports are linked to the death of a toddler who was found in a parking lot at a nearby strip mall over the weekend.

Officials at the Los Angeles Police Department will only say that officials, including members of the Metro division, which is part of LAPD’s special operations group, responded to an apartment in the 14,600 block of Lanark Street around 6pm.

A report from Gil Leyvas of KTLA in Sky5, found on July 12 in the 8200 block of Vanneis Boulevard, a rally for the deceased children, said police arrived and it was ongoing within half a mile of the apartment.

Video news service RMG News, captured in law enforcement operation footage, was seen handcuffing a patrol cruiser around 10:30pm, escorting a woman.

The male subject was seen as he was handcuffed and kicked out of the building by medical personnel along with the LA Fire Department on a gurney placed behind an ambulance.

As the man was loaded into the ambulance, many people, many people were filming the ordeal on their cell phones, so I heard someone screaming the word “justice” several times.

The third person reportedly was taken into custody around midnight. A crowd of onlookers will pack an area outside the gate parking lot of the complex, forcing patrol cruiser police to issue commands to help people break up, with a video show.

The camera also filmed yellow crime scene tapes inside what appeared to be the hallway outside the apartment where at least one officer was a standing guard.

Neither the man nor the woman seen during police custody has been identified.

LAPD told KTLA over the weekend that the deceased appears to be around three or four years old, but details about the child’s death are limited.

Police did not say whether they had any obvious injuries or whether a preliminary investigation revealed a possible cause of death. It was also unknown how long the boy was there before he was found.

Footage from that scene showed a white canopy placed on the body of a child near the two trash cans. It is unknown whether the boy was found in one of the trash cans.

“We’re trying to put together our work to really understand when this happened and to understand who is responsible for this,” said LAPD Det. Meghan Aguilar said Saturday. “It could be natural death. This could be due to abuse. We don’t know at this point. They won’t touch the body until the coroner arrives. And it’s the coroner’s responsibility to determine the cause of death.”

KTLA contacted LAPD about his arrest Tuesday evening and is waiting for a response.
