Dozens remained rallied outside the Ventura County Glasshouse Farm on Friday morning, hoping to be reunited with a loved one who was detained and hidden after a massive federal immigrant attack on Thursday.
Some workers who initially avoided arrests began to slowly re-emerge. One of them, Hesús Martínez, was hiding inside the facility for nearly 24 hours a day. He reunited with his family early on Friday.
“It feels good. We’ve been waiting for him all night. What they’re doing is inhuman,” Jennifer said. “He’s not back here. That’s certainly true. He’s not back.”
She said more workers are still hidden and risking being detained for fear of coming out. Abandoned vehicles were also seen in the area on Friday. It is probably for those who are detained or still in hiding.

KTLA obtained cell phone videos from workers who tried to hide on the roof of the facility but were eventually detained. His girlfriend, Karen Martinez, said she sent a video to her during the attack.
“He was sending me videos trying to get away from them,” she said. “I was afraid he would go to those facilities. I was wondering if he could eat there, if he would be treated well. All these people are hardworking people, and they have a family.”
Immigration activist Alex Lara told KTLA that she spent the night supporting her family outside the farm, when a man in hiding fell from the building and was taken to a hospital where she was seriously injured. Lara said the man’s family later made the decision to take him from life support. KTLA is working to independently check the details.
As of Friday, authorities had not released an official number of individuals arrested during the attack or protest. On Thursday, KTLA’s Sky5 detained at least 30 detainees, carved hands and detained brown paper bags at their feet, waiting for transport.
Authorities also confirmed the arrests of 10 undocumented minors, including eight unaccompanied children, as part of the surgery. “These are boys found at a marijuana facility. Almost all of them are 14-year-olds, a US Customs and Border Patrol officer posted on X on Friday morning with photos of 10 minors.

Protesters reportedly escalated throughout Thursday, as agents deployed tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
On Friday morning, the FBI announced a $50,000 reward for information that led to the arrest of a man caught on video that allegedly fired a pistol by a federal officer during the protest. They said they found it once, and the suspect would be charged.
Glasshouse Farms is currently under investigation for alleged child labour violations, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The company issued a statement that it was fully cooperating with ICE, but declined to comment further. It remains to be seen whether the facility is operating or not.

The Camarillo raid coincided with a second federal operation at the site of another glass house in Carpinteria about 50 miles northwest. Salud Carbajal, D-Santa Barbara, of the district, including Carpinteria, attempted to access the site but was turned away by an agent. He later criticized him for describing him as a “troubling lack of transparency” from federal authorities.
“These militarized ice attacks are not a way to keep our community safe,” Carvajal said. “This kind of confusion only hurts families and tears the community.”
On Friday afternoon, DHS announced that around 200 workers had been detained.
