According to a new WatchDog report, the Biden administration has spent tens of millions of dollars on grants to immigrants and refugees through one of its agencies, including more than $10 billion, including one of its agencies.
The book opened by WatchDog Group examines grants to nonprofits awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Refugee Resettlement Office. That responsibility includes caring for unaccompanied migrant children who illegally cross the southern border and legally enter refugees.
Watchdog discovered that in 2021 it distributed $2.4 billion in grants to nonprofits. In 2022, it distributed $3.4 billion, and in 2023 it spiked by up to $10 billion in 2023, then to $4.2 billion in 2024.

The number skyrocketed amid the historic immigration crisis at the southern border that had plagued the Biden administration between 2021 and 2024.
According to WatchDog, the money included spending to help immigrants save cars and home purchases, but others along with other programs for legal aid and cultural orientation I gave business and personal loans.
“We’re hurting American taxpayers. People who are in places like North Carolina, Los Angeles, where they’ve lost everything,” CEO John Hurt told Fox News. “How moral is it to ask this country to pay the bill for those who want to come illegally? That’s outrageous.”

The revelation is in government-wide funding, including funding for immigration, led by the Trump administration’s Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced last week that it had reclaimed $59 million in a FEMA fund allocated to hotel housing immigrants in New York City, and fired four FEMA employees involved in the payments being distributed .
“A penny that goes against American interest and safety will not spend a penny,” a DHS spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is tightening border security and cracking down on internal releases. It suspended refugees resettlement, was a ban on immigrants and customs enforcement agents, and declared a national emergency at the southern border.
