Authorities say the pursuit, which began commercially, ended after a failed traffic stop in a fatal crash.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman confirmed to KTLA that officers had attempted to stop traffic on Florence Avenue around 11:13pm on Saturday. However, the vehicle did not succumb, and the pursuit began.
The suspect was running through multiple red lights at high speed, the spokesman added, and CHP quickly canceled the pursuit.

Shortly after the pursuit was cancelled, the vehicle crashed near the intersection of Randolph Street and Eastern Avenue. Responding paramedics declared one of the resident of the vehicle who died at the scene, and at least one was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows debris scattered across the road just after the collision. The suspicious vehicle, the white sedan, was seriously damaged.

According to a man who witnessed the incident, the fast crash could have involved at least one innocent bystander.
“You can hear someone is driving really fast,” said witness Arturo Esquibel. “They collided with another car and attacked several pedestrians. I thought their bodies had jumped out of the car, but I think they passed by.”
“I thought it was clothes that ran out of the car, but that was the body they hit,” he added. “[The body collided with] Paul and I at the bus stop, I think they died soon on the curb. ”

A CHP spokesman could not confirm whether the pedestrian was the heir, but said three people in the suspected vehicle were in custody. One of them released her legs bail after being detained, the spokesman added, detailing that it was not immediately clear whether they were in custody.
The crash investigation is being conducted by officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
