The soccer coach was accused of killing a 13-year-old boy whose body was found in a ditch in Ventura County last week.
Mario Edgardo Garcia Aquino, 43, has been charged with the death of 13-year-old Oscar Omar Hernandez.
Garcia Aquino, coach of the Hurricane Valley Boys Football Club near Silmar, is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, officials told The Times.

Additionally, he was either already investigating or investigating alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff.
Authorities believe Hernandez’s murder is also linked to attempts to sexually assault. “The charges against Garcia Aquino include allegations of special circumstances of the murder during the committee, or the committee’s attempts to commit indecent conduct with a child,” the Times reported.
The allegations make Garcia Aquino eligible for the death penalty. This is what LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman recently said his office would pursue it again.
