The Houston Police Department said Carlos Jose Ayala Morales, 43, was charged with a felony death of a child. He is accused of grabbing the girl on January 27th on her way home from her elementary school, Fox Houston reported.
The girl and her mother told the news outlet that she was walking behind her sister and her friend. They said the man ran, groping for her and running away. The girl was shocked and didn’t scream to her sister when she got home.

“The man came behind me and he touched my private parts,” the girl told the station.
“He can’t hurt other children because he hopes he’ll be caught and cleaned up for longer,” her mother said.
Morales has a long criminal history. In 2017 he was charged with four counts of indecency with a child and avoiding arrest.
At the time, police believed Morales, known as Ayala, was linked to “at least 10 sexual assault cases in the northeastern Houston and Harris County areas.”
Authorities were investigating “sexual assaults of a school-aged juvenile woman, age 7-15, who was traveling back and forth between schools,” according to the news outlet.

“Ayala appeared behind the victim and inappropriately touched through her clothes,” a police news release said.
