The Department of Homeland Security’s “sanctuary jurisdiction” list has disappeared from its website.
The list, released last Thursday, outlined 35 states and parts of the District of Columbia that, according to DHS, “undermines the rule of law and endangers the lives of Americans and law enforcement.”
“We are embracing criminally illegal aliens and exposing these sanctuary politicians who are against federal law,” DHS wrote to X, publishing the list.
However, users currently attempting to access the list of the Department of Homeland Security websites will receive a message saying “Page not found” and a note saying “Page has been moved, deleted, deleted, or unavailable.”

When asked about the issue Monday, senior homeland security officials told Fox News Digital:
“The designation of sanctuary jurisdiction is based on an assessment of many factors, including self-identification as sanctuary jurisdiction, enforcement of immigration laws, restrictions on information sharing, violations with federal law enforcement in the legal protection of illegal aliens, and illegal protection,” the official added.
When Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem was asked about the disappearance of the list on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Future,” she said, “The president has issued an executive order that directs us to recognize these sanctuary cities and make it more difficult to identify them and how to do our work, so that we can make our work safer and that it can raise our families again.”
“That list – going forward – some cities have been pushed back. I think it’s because they don’t qualify, but there’s no law on books that they qualify,” Noem continued. “They don’t support our ice officers, so they give criminals sanctuary. They don’t respect detainees, so they don’t let us know when these dangerous offenders are released from their courts.
“That list is absolutely used and will identify cities and jurisdictions that do not respect law or justice,” Noem said.

Before the list was removed, DHS stated on its website:
“The DHS will require that these jurisdictions be reviewed and revised their policies immediately, and will update their obligation to protect American citizens, not dangerous illegal aliens, consistent with federal immigration law.”
According to the Associated Press, some of the jurisdictions on the list received pushbacks from local officials.
In California, the city of Huntington had created a listing, passing a resolution this year declaring the community as “non-operated cities.”
Jim Davell, a manager in Shawano County, Wisconsin, told the Associated Press that inclusion of his community must have been a mismatch. Dave voted for Trump, as did 67% of Shawano County.

Davel believes the administration could disrupt the 2021 county vote and become the “second amended sanctuary county,” which bans gun control measures, a safe haven for immigrants. He said the county has not approved immigration reserve policies.
