The dramatic home surveillance video captured a shocking moment when the driver lost control as he speeded up the Pomona neighborhood at night, crashing into several parked vehicles. The incident caused serious damage, but fortunately no one was injured.
The video was filmed just before 10pm on a Sunday night, showing the driver driving through a residential area in Pomona. As the car approaches, it crashes into a parked vehicle, spins, continuing its chaotic road, hitting multiple cars along the way.
“I was in the living room and I heard a lot of noise. New resident of the neighborhood, Lurie Aratre, said: Aratre was in line with Palomares St and Phillips Blvd. He said that there have been several accidents, but this has never happened before.
Her security cameras captured a series of events showing the driver crashing into a friend, White Honda Civic, parked outside her home.
“Her car was being pushed the whole time and we saw the man go very fast. His car was ruined and we couldn’t drive,” Aratre shared.
Another neighbor, Alyssa Ortega, lives in several homes from where she crashed, but witnessed the aftermath. Ortega explained how her family got home before the driver went past the driveway and zoomed.
“He landed in three reversed houses,” Ortega recalled. “I yell at my husband because I didn’t know if a person was okay or not. He went on a run to check on the driver, but when he got there he was, he said that person was I said I was unconscious, but ready to turn the car and get away,” Ortega added.
Many were grateful that no one was on the street during the crash as their neighbors tried to understand the situation. “Everyone was lucky, but it was all parked cars and no one was on the road or on the car,” Ortega said.
Pomona police reported that they had arrested 18-year-old Los Angeles County, Joseph Cameron, who was driving the stolen car. He is now at the back of the bar and is West Valley Detention Center.
